★★★★★This heat shrink kit contains a variety of solder sleeves to suit different AWG sizes with a shrink rating of 2:1. The heat shrink tubing is fitted with a central ring of solder which melts when heat is applied, allowing you to join two cables with minimum fuss! Insulate and join your wiring at the same time.
Kit Contents:
10 x White Sleeves to suit 26-24 AWG
20 x Red Sleeves to suit 22-18 AWG
15 x Blue Sleeves to suit 16-14 AWG
5 x Yellow Sleeves to suit 12-10 AWG
Best Method for Shrinking/Melting
For best results use a flameless heat gun capable of 450°C or more (or wave a blow torch/lighter over the tubing). Heat will need to be applied long enough to allow the solder to liquify and flow inside whilst the outer tubing shrinks over the join. It's important to get even heat across the join, so be sure to rotate the join over the heat source, focusing mainly on the join itself and working outward to shrink the tubing around the cabling itself.
Shrink Ratio: 2:1
Working Temperature: -55°C to +125°C
Fully Contraction Temperature: 130°C
Solder began to melt temperature: 125°C
Solder completely melt temperature: 150°C
